Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic flow style of yoga with a set sequence of poses, as taught by the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India.

It is a daily practice, designed brilliantly to work every part of the body in a precise and intelligent way. Beginners ease into this practice, taking it gently as the body slowly adapts on this journery of transformation.
Beginning with Sun Salutations to warm the body, moving thru standing poses that strengthen and align the body, and finishing with seated twists and stretching, Ashtanga methodically and carefully works the joints and muscles in a therapeutic approach that benefits everyone.

I have been doing this practice daily for the past 15 years and at age 70 I continue to do so. The consistency of the practice helps me to stay in touch with my body.

When I look back it is exhilarating to be able to do the advanced poses that I once felt were impossible.
